Officially, we’re in a recession. But what does that mean? Well, we have to be a little bit smarter about how we move the business forward, we have to be a little bit smarter about how we work together, we have to be more intentional. This is something I’ve been talking about for a long time about being intentional.

But today, with the pressure of economic uncertainty, all of the concerns with safety and our workforces, working remotely, sometimes not working remotely. All of these things cause us to really think about who we are as leaders.

If you’re listening to this today, hopefully, you have the confidence and courage in yourself to take your team where they’ve never been before. It always starts with you. You’ve got to lead by example. When I was a leader of a company that was growing really fast, one of the things that got me caught up all the time was I focused on the problems of the company, I focused on the metrics. What I learned quickly was, those were the easy things. What was hard was focusing on people Helping them have the confidence and courage to be the leaders they needed to be to drive the business forward.
