What does it feel like to optimize your time? Well, we know that when we spend our time wisely, that we get the right things done, we feel like we’ve accomplished something, we feel like we’ve added meaning and purpose to all the people around us, and all the things that are going on, and we’re getting things done. But here’s the reality. It doesn’t always feel like we’re optimized when it comes to time, we feel pulled in many directions, we feel distracted, and we’re juggling too many things. And especially as CEOs of fast growth companies, they feel like they can’t get it all done, they feel like they’re always behind. And I start here because this kicks off the new series that we have this month called optimize your time.

[0:43]
Now, if you have been with us for a while, then you probably know who I am. But for those who haven’t heard my podcast before, this is your first time tuning in. My name is Gene Hammett. I am an executive coach. I’m a professional speaker, I’m an author. But mainly what people know me for is helping companies grow. I primarily work with fast-growth companies, most of my clients from the Inc 5000. And I really love the work I do, I love to be able to add value to the CEOs and their teams to help them continue the growth that they have set for themselves. Now we talk about culture and leadership and all those things here on the podcast, to help you be the kind of leader that your team deserves to be the visionary that is really necessary to keep growth going. If you are with us for this past month, then you might have noticed that we put out a lot of interviews in the month of December 2020 was a special year for all of us, it was very difficult.

[1:36]
For some, it was a year of growth for others. So we decided to do something very special, we have been holding up a ton of interviews, that we wanted to get out into the marketplace for you to learn to be better leaders to understand your culture better to learn from other founder CEOs of fast-growth companies. So what do we do? We published 31 interviews in the month of December never done that before. We’re not a daily podcast. But we wanted to do something very special for you if you wanted to accelerate your learning as a leader, and really take what you could into the new year. So we also are launching something extremely powerful inside January 2021. This will be evergreen content. But for right now you’re getting the first look at it. And that is the optimize your time series kicked off this whole video talking about the importance of time? Well, we want to make sure that you’re using your time wisely, we want to make sure that you’re not distracted by small things. And you’re focused on the big highest value pieces to your growth.

[2:42]
Now, what does that mean for you, as the CEO of a fast-growing company? Well, we wanted to interview what other CEOs were doing, not just people in general, not people who are going to share with you what they do with their to-do list and how they handle things. Some of those things might be sprinkled in. But the core of what we’re talking about today is my interviews with 15 CEOs of fast-growth companies from the Inc 5000. They range in, you know, from probably on the lower side to really fast growth, probably, you know, 3000 5,000% in a year. But all of that to be said, these are CEOs just like you that are growing their company. And they’re going to share back with you what has worked for them.

[3:25]
We talked about leadership, we talked about culture, emails, calendar, empowering others, and we talked about anything and everything that relates to you optimizing your time, one of the things I wanted to share with you is when I decide to really look at something, I want to go deep, I don’t want to be surface level, I want to go deep into what the real aspects are. And so this is a new type of series. This isn’t your traditional interview series. In fact, I’m really excited to share this with you because I hope it’s something that you will love and become to appreciate inside grow think tank is these types of interviews.

[4:01]
Well, I said it’s not really an interview. But that being said, What I really want to share with you is that this is broken up into two parts. And each one of these interviews is part one will be about what has worked for this CEO. So they’ll share back with you the most powerful strategy that has helped them optimize their time. And it will help you because you will probably have some things that you can do better and that this has already worked for them. In part two, it’s a very special kind of experience that you’re going to get to listen into. It’s sort of executive coaching for a podcast. Now let me explain this. executive coaching is not just surface level, and not just about, you know, getting clear about what’s next step to do. But that’s mostly what these interviews are. But what you’re missing from these interviews are the real deep aspects of executive coaching, the peeling back the layers to really understand what’s going on.

[5:00]
What’s keeping people from moving for? Where are they sabotaging themselves? I didn’t get into a lot of that stuff inside these interviews because I wanted to make sure I’m being respectful to the person I’m talking to. I’m not trying to find their weaknesses, but I’m trying to help them reframe something or help them get more clear about whatever they’re struggling with. And what we talked about is things like, you know, finding whitespace finding time to think we talk about empowering others, we talk about truly understanding their voice and how they communicate. And all of those things are part of part two, which is an executive coaching experience inside the optimizer time series. It’s a mouthful, I bring this to you because this series kicks off something I really am excited to share with you.

[5:44]
Not only are we going to talk about some of the most important things relates to being a CEO of a fast-growing company, your time, and how you spend it, you get to listen into what these conversations are like. And you get to decide how to use them for yourself. And I find it’s actually much easier to look at others and see what’s going on in your own life because you’re not emotionally attached to others. But you can see the commonalities and patterns in your own thinking. So I’m really excited to bring the optimizer time series for CEOs to you. So stay tuned to every one of the interviews that are coming up, hopefully, you’ll get every one of them. And my hope is that you like this series so much that you’ll want to share it with someone that wants to optimize their time. Hopefully, another CEO that wants to grow their business and wants to learn from the CEOs of the Inc 5000.

[6:34]
You don’t have to it’s certainly not a requirement. But what is a requirement is for you to truly deeply consider what these executives are sharing with you and how they would fit into your life. Not just listen passively, but really go deep into it. I put a lot of work into it, we’re going to not only am I going to share the 15 interviews, but there’s also going to be a few more things I’m going to give to you over the month. So make sure you stay tuned in you keep watching the episodes. They’re going to be very different than traditional interviews.

[7:03]
So all that being said, my name is Gene Hammett. I work with fast growth leaders and their teams to help them continue growth to help them go beyond what is possible. Inside this optimize your time series for CEOs. You will learn those tricks you will learn even more things would take to optimize your time. When you think about growth and you think about leadership think of growth think as always lead with courage. We’ll see you next time and this series will blow your mind.
